600 Walgreens To Close Following $4.3 Billion Rite Aid Deal

Nearly 600 Walgreens stores will be closing after the company received approval to purchase more than 1,900 Rite Aid stores in a $4.3 billion dollar cash deal, NJ.com reports.

Walgreens will be closing hundreds of New Jersey locations.

Walgreens has not announced which stores will shutter, but most that will are within a mile of another, the article says.

Closings are expected to begin in 18 months, according to NJ.com.
