HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. – There will be "A Night of Comedy" to benefit the Bergen Volunteer Center Friday, March 18 at Banana’s Comedy Club, 283 Route 17 South, Hasbrouck Heights.
The doors open at 8 p.m. for the 9 p..m. show. Tickets are $40 with one drink or food item purchase minimum. Tickets can be obtained by calling (201) 489-9454, Ext. 206 before March 12, or online .
Bret Ernst will be the headliner for a night of laughs. Ernst, born and raised in New Jersey, is making the rounds through the country’s top clubs, and has earned the sought-after honor of marquee status on the Sunset Strip.
The event is a great chance to catch a rising comedic star while supporting a local charity. The money raised at this event will support the work of the Volunteer Center of Bergen County, whose work includes:
- Two mentoring programs helping more than 80 abused or neglected children and more than 50 overwhelmed mothers to take steps to achieve a brighter future.
- The Chore Service, which keeps more than 1,900 seniors safe in their own homes.
- Bergen LEADS, whose monthly seminars led by former County Executive William “Pat” Schuber, help develop a new generation of community leaders trained in issues of critical importance to Bergen County.
“The Volunteer Center plays a key role in helping Bergen County residents respond to needs in our community,” said Lynne Algrant, the center’s chief executive officer.
In 2016, the center will celebrate 50 years of service in the community.
