These cards were originally part of an Amazing Heroes trading cards Kickstarter campaign, will be offered to fans for the first time at a comic convention.

"Wrapped retro style, these cards feature characters from the Captain Action mythology, including Captain Action, Action Boy, Dr. Evil, Lady Action and even Captain Action Cat," a news release notes. Written and designed by Christopher Irving of The Drawn Word, the Captain Action Card Pack features artwork from fan-favorite artists, including Paul Gulacy, Carmine Infantino and Art Baltazar.

The new Amazing Heroes figures will also be on sale at the convention.

"I've known Ed and Joe for years and had so much fun playing in the Captain Action universe for a pack of trading cards that -- for me -- bring back the feel and thrill that came with the superhero cards of the 1990s," said Irving. "I went for a very basic, clean look for these, from color palette to the iconic quality of each Action character. Even Captain Action Cat!"

Captain Action Enterprises will be offering several special deals and discounts on comics and toys, along with the card sets. "As fans ourselves, we love comic conventions and find the smaller shows, like John Paul's NJ Comic Shows, to be so fun and invigorating," said Ed Catto of Captain Action Enterprises. "It's also a fantastic opportunity to meet and speak with the fans."

Admission is $3, and kids under 12 are free. The comic-con will be held at the Hasbrouck Heights Holiday Inn, 283 Rt. 17, South Hasbrouck Heights. It's in the ballroom, just off the main lobby. There is free parking in the hotel's lot.
