HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. – Hasbrouck Heights Library is hosting a number of events in February to beat the cold and keep patrons busy.
LEGO Club: Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 3:30 p.m. Children ages 5-12 are invited to show their creativity through LEGOs. Space is limited to 20 children; registration is required.
Author Visit and Storytime: Thursday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. Author Eleni Theodorou will do a live reading of her African tale “Noko The Knight” for the kids of Hasbrouck Heights. Exciting activities are planned for both parents and kids. All ages welcome, but registration is required.
Craft Club: Monday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Make something creative and take it home with you. For children in fourth through sixth grade. Space is limited to 20 children; registration is required.
Little Artist: Thursday, Feb. 25 at 3:30 p.m. Join the library to learn about an artist or type of art and recreate a famous work or make your own masterpiece. No experience is necessary. For children in second through fifth grades. Space is limited to 20 children; registration is required.
Valentine Craft and Storytime: Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 3:30 p.m. Sweet stories and heartfelt crafts included. For children in kindergarten through third grade. Space is limited to 20 children; registration is required.
Chess Club: Thursday, Feb. 18 at 3:30 p.m. Come test and improve your skills at the library’s monthly meetings of its chess club. Members must have some knowledge of chess, as there are a limited number of instructors. Preference is given to students and residents of Hasbrouck Heights. For ages 7-12. Space is limited to 20 children; registration is required.
Book Clubs: Two book clubs are offered for kids. Best Books for second and third grade meets on the first Friday of each month. Critics’ Choice for fourth through sixth grades meets on the third Friday of each month. Click here for more details or inquire at the Children’s Desk. Registration is required.
