County Sets Juneteenth Event At Overpeck Park

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. -- Bergen County is celebrating the 155st anniversary of Juneteenth -- celebrating the end of slavery in the U.S. -- with "Hallowed Grounds: Sites of African American Memories," on Saturday, June 18.

County Executive James Tedesco III, the Board of Chosen Freeholders and the African American Advisory Committee are inviting the public to a Juneteenth celebration.

The event will include entertainment, food, children's games, cultural and historical displays, vendors and exhibitors, a tour of the historical Gethsemane Cemetery and a Martin Luther King Jr. statue. "Jazz Under the Stars" will feature "Jazzy Bear."
