HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. — Barbara Romero of Hasbrouck Heights will perform again with the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera in the company's production of Lucia di Lammermoor.
The performance will be Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center, 30 North Van Brunt St. in Englewood.
Romero, a BALAM Dance Theatre Resident Spanish Dance Specialist, will perform with BALAM Artistic Director Carlos Fittante, an acclaimed Baroque and Renaissance dancer.
They will perform a period dance in costumes of the era at the beginning of Act 2 in Gaetano Donizetti's famous bel canto opera.
For six seasons, Romero toured the United States with the Boston Flamenco Ballet under the direction of "El Naranjito" (Simon Blasco), choreographing and performing a new production annually.
She also choreographed the opera "Carmen" for the Regina Opera Company, performed on the cabaret circuit and was the featured dancer at Meson Asturias.
Romero has appeared with Romeria Flamenca and at numerous tablaos.
Lucia di Lammermoor Verismo Opera presents Lucia di Lammermoor in three acts with the libretto written by Salvatore Cammarano, based on the novel "The Bride of Lammermoor" by Sir Walter Scott.
