In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the 1 p.m. event will feature donuts, apple cider and a short film on fire prevention for children ages 3-13.

The Bergen County Fire Prevention trailer will be on site so that children can experience a smoke-filled environment.

Fire Chief Ron Phillips Jr. asks that parents take the mystery out of fires by talking to their children about ways to prevent them and stay safe.

Phillip's advice"• Never play with matches, lighters or candles;• Never play with electrical cords;• Never put anything in a socket;• Blankets or clothing should never be thrown placed or thrown on top of lampshades;• Don’t turn up a heater without a grown-up’s permission;• If your clothes catch fire, stop, drop and roll.
