EDGEWATER, N.J. – Edgewater rapper Cardi B says a New York City police officer put her in a chokehold and pinned her against her Bentley SUV Tuesday, according to multiple media reports.
The rapper – whose hit “Bodak Yellow” is currently the number two song in the country – made the statement in a now-deleted tweet, according to reports.
"I can't believe this cop put me on a choke hole just now sh*t is crazy these NY cops don't know how to do they job F*** 12," she tweeted, according to reports.
Sources told TMZ that Cardi and her cousin were in the Bentley in Manhattan, when the SUV was hit by another driver. The pair then got into an argument with the other driver, and the police officer got involved, according to the TMZ report. But an NYPD spokesman said he has no records or information about the claim, according to TMZ.
Cardi -- whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar -- grew up in the South Bronx and now lives in Edgewater.
