Family Of Moonachie Student Struck On Route 46 Seeks 'Justice For Annie'

MOONACHIE, N.J. — It's been 10 months since Moonachie's Anna Semioli was struck crossing Route 46 in Clifton by a pickup truck driven by a North Arlington man who took off, leaving her in critical condition

Semioli, then on track to graduate with an accounting degree from Montclair State University, would've had it all.

And now, the 23-year-old's family is struggling to cover the costs of medical care that is uncovered by insurance.

The family recently launched a GoFundMe page to help with medical costs.

“This has been nothing short of a complete nightmare,” Anne's sister, Gina Semioli of Lodi, told Daily Voice.

“I never in a million years would’ve imagined this would happen to my family.”

Gina also created a petition on Change.org urging Passaic County officials and the judge to convict the driver who hit her sister of his crime. He later surrendered to police, but that was small consolation to loved ones.

"This monster has taken my sister's life away from her." she told Daily Voice.

"He destroyed my entire family... I want him to know that in my eyes he is a murderer."

Having made little progress at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in February, an unresponsive Semioli lives with around-the-clock care including several nurses at her mother's Moonachie home.

"We continue to pray and hope that she will one day regain consciousness," she told Daily Voice.
