Hasbrouck Heights Knights Of Columbus 'Adopt' Route 17 Stretch

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. — The Hasbrouck Heights Knights of Columbus will be cleaning the portion of Route 17 that runs through the borough as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program.

Members set out last Saturday to collect several orange garbage bags worth of trash.

"So please if [you're] on the highway, don't litter," the group wrote on its Facebook page. "At least [until] you get to Wood-Ridge."

The Adopt-a-Highway program is a promotional, international campaign that encourages volunteers to keep a section of a highway clean.
