MOONACHIE, N.J. -- Moonachie tour operator Arthur Berman has arranged many tours to Cuba over the past few years, said NorthJersey.com.
Berman told NorthJersey.com that with rising demands to go to Cuba from "all over the country," Havana hotel reservations are not available until January 2018, said the report.
Although President Barack Obama recently visited Cuba and a "new era of more open relations" seems evident, the half-century-old embargo remains in place until Congress lifts it, said NorthJersey.com.
Still both countries have made great strides in loosening travel restrictions, yet it is still prohibited to allow tourism, technically, according to NorthJersey.com.
When U.S. citizens go to Cuba it is usually for educational travel within programs that are very well structured, the NorthJersey.com report said.
Berman's company is among tour companies that will make arrangements for Fathom week-long cruises, according to NorthJersey.com.
