NBC's New Sitcom Based On Wayne Creator's Relationship With Her Mom

WAYNE, N.J. — A new sitcom on NBC is largely based on the Wayne creator's relationship with her own mother, the New York Post reports.

Tracey Wigfield, the creator of "Great News" on NBC, based some of the characters off of her relationship with her mom, Kathy, who lives in Wayne.

"Great News," a workplace comedy produced by Tina Fey, was created by Tracey Wigfield, who calls her mom Kathy in Wayne every day, according to the New York Post.

On the show, Kathy's character, Carol (Andrea Martin), decides to take an internship at her daughter's office, the article says.

The show is airing Tuesday at 9 p.m. on NBC.
