RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. – Ridgefield Park officials want pet owners to keep their dogs and cats healthy – and licensed – in the coming year.
Village officials are reminding residents that dog and cat licenses expire on Jan. 1. All dogs and cats are required to be licensed. Licenses are available at the Village Clerk’s office between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Proof of current rabies vaccination must be presented to receive a license. License fee is $10 if the animal is neutered and $15 if it is not neutered.
There will be a late fee of $10 if the license is purchased after April 30.
Those whose pets need a rabies vaccine can get one for free during one of the Bergen County Animal Shelter's free rabies clinics, which are held the second and fourth Thursday of the month.
Contact the shelter at 201-229-4600 ext. 2 or go to www.co.bergen.nj.us/bcas for more information about the clinic dates and times.
