WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- A Union City substitute teacher was arraigned Tuesday morning on statutory rape charges involving a 15-year-old girl on six separate dates from December through February.
George E. Bolzoni -- also known as George Perez, 28 -- is charged with having sex with the underage teen in a car in Hasbrouck Heights and in Wood-Ridge last December.His attorney, S. Emile Lisboa, entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Kristin DeMarco told Superior Court Judge Edward Jerejian that she offered a plea deal of eight years in state prison, Megan’s Law sex offender registry and parole supervision for life. She said she also wants his substitute teacher certificate revoked.
Bolzoni faces charges of second-degree child sexual assault, showing obscene material to a child under 18 and endangering the welfare of a child, among others. His alleged victim was 15 at the time of the assaults, DeMarco said.
Bolzoni is also under indictment out of Hackensack on charges of stalking, molesting and threatening to kill a Fair Lawn woman 17 years older than him.He's also facing charges in Delaware, where state police said they caught him with more than 10 pounds of marijuana in his car trunk in January.
