Antonio A. Santos, 76, Wood-Ridge Resident

WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- Antonio A. Santos -- a Wood-Ridge resident, formerly of Wallington for over 15 years and Lodi for over 20 years -- died on Monday, Jan. 2. He was 76.

Born in Portugal, Santos was a police officer there for 14 years, prior to coming to America in 1979. He worked in housekeeping for Hackensack Hospital for 10 years, and he retired when he was 62.

He loved to watch his favorite soccer team, Benfica, play. 

Santos is survived by his wife, Gloria (Costa) Santos; daughter Anna Santos; grandchildren Louis Anthony Mingolo and Janessa Mingolo; one sister and two brothers; one brother-in-law and his wife; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, at Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., in Carlstadt. The funeral will depart from the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Friday, for a 9:30 a.m. funeral mass at  St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, in East Rutherford. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, in North Arlington.
