Carmela R. Massaro, 89, Wood-Ridge Resident

WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- Carmela R. "Mel" Massaro of Wood-Ridge, formerly of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Wednesday, Dec. 9. She was 89.

Massaro was born in Jersey City to the late Joseph and Rose Massaro. Before retiring, she was a secretary for Ticor Title Company in Hackensack. She organized the Atlantic City bus trips for the V.F.W. Post 4591 in Hasbrouck Heights and was a volunteer for many years at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Massaro is also predeceased by her sister, Carmine.

She is survived by her children Susan DiPisa and her husband John; brother Joseph Massaro; grandchildren Mark Joseph DiPisa and his wife Stephanie and Scott Michael DiPisa and his fiance Laura; great grandchildren Joseph, Daniela and Giana.

Massaro is also survived by her loving companion Andrew Proscia and her extended family and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at Costa Memorial Home in Hasbrouck Heights on Monday, Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m. Liturgy

Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in South Hackensack.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec.13 from 2 p.m. to  4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
