HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Francis J. "Frank" Ofsharick, of Wood-Ridge, formerly of Hasbrouck Heights and Jersey City, died Friday, Nov. 6. He was 90.
He was born in Glen Carbon, Pa. to Joseph and Catherine Ofsharick.
Ofsharick was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1943-46. Before retiring in 1981, he was a firefighter for the Jersey City Fire Department for 30 years. In his retirement years, he was a driver for Drug Guild in Secaucus and worked at Siegel's Hardware in Wood-Ridge.
Ofsharick was predeceased by his wife, Claire Dorothy (Griffen) Ofsharick, as well as eight brothers and sisters.
He is survived by children, Maureen Buck (Richard), of Nutley, David Gerard Ofsharick of Norwalk, Conn., Mary Vander Porten, of Wood-Ridge; and grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew.
