James W. Chandless, 82, Formerly Of Hasbrouck Heights

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. – James W. Chandless, a resident of Davidson, N.C. and formerly of Marshfield, Mass. and Hasbrouck Heights, died Wednesday, June 8. He was 82.

He was born in Philadelphia to the late Ralph W. and Mary Frances Chandless.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, he was an adjudication officer for the Veterans Administration in Boston.

He is survived by his wife Rose C. Chandless; children Steven G. Chandless and his wife Alison, Michelle R. McMillan and James I. Chandless and his wife Christine; siblings Kathleen Hoffman, Georgeanne Esmerado, Ralph W. Chandless, Jr.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.

He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Smith.

The funeral will be on at 9 a.m. Monday at the Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. There will be a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. Corpus Christi R.C. Church in Hasbrouck Heights. Interment to follow at Hackensack Cemetery.
