WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- John Francis Rogers, of Wood-Ridge, died Aug. 1. He was 92.
He was born Nov 7, 1923.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
For more than 30 years, Rogers was the proprietor of Broadway Firestone Tire in Clifton. After retiring from that, he was a bookkeeper for Kirk Tires in Bergenfield for 15 years, retiring at the age of 90.
He was a parishioner of Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the choir in Holy Face Monastery in Clifton.
He is survived by his children, Bernadette Scheidewig, Angela Franklin and Mark Rogers.
There will be a funeral departing at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt. There will be a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Assumption R.C. Church, 143 1st St., Wood-Ridge. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi. Visiting hours will be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
