Joseph A. Scaparro, 92, Wood-Ridge Resident

WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- Wood-Ridge resident Joseph A. Scaparro died Wednesday, Jan. 27. He was 92.

Born in Jersey City, Scaparro was an Army veteran of World War II who was awarded a Bronze Star. Before retiring, he was a maintenance worker for Becton-Dickinson in East Rutherford.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Jenny Scaparro, and his sister Margaret Scaparro.

Visiting hours will be from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Costa Memorial Home, 170 Central Ave., Hasbrouck Heights. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Father Brian Laffler officiating. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
