Joseph Barnao, 92, Of Hasbrouck Heights

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Joseph Barnao of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Tuesday, Jan. 17. He was 92.

Born in Stromboli, Italy to the late Francesco and Josephine Barnao, he came to the United States in 1932. He was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII and a member of the James B, Scarr American Legion Post 106 in Hasbrouck Heights. Before retiring, he was the owner of Hiram's in Fort Lee for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Leisure Club in Hasbrouck Heights. 

He is survived by his children, JoAnn Glock and her late husband Donald, Lenora O'Connor and her husband Patrick and Carol Dienstag and her late husband Michael; siblings, late Vincent, Jack, Mary and Caroline; grandchildren, Kristin Schwartz and her husband Charles, Michelle Tompkins and her husband Michael, David Glock , Matthew, Steven and Brooke Dienstag; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Samantha, Charlie, Patrick, Michael and Brielle. 

He is predeceased by his wife, Eleonora (Panittieri) Barnao. 

Visitation is on Friday, Jan. 20 from 4-8 p.m. at Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. Funeral liturgy is Saturday, Jan. 21st at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi R.C. Church,  Hasbrouck Heights. Entombment following at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
