Judith Corbliss, 75, Of Hasbrouck Heights

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Judith Corbliss, of Hasbrouck Heights, passed away Sept. 4. She was 75 years old.

Born Nov. 11, 1939, in Jersey City, to the late William and Catherine Walsh, Corbliss married her Saint Michael's High School sweetheart John “Jack” Corbliss in 1958. 

The couple relocated to Hasbrouck Heights in 1968, where she became active in Corpus Christi Parish. Corbliss was a longtime Girl Scout “Cookie Mom” and was active in the Red Hat Society, the local Little League and the Hasbrouck Heights Band Parents Association, as well as with the school’s PTA and sports programs. 

Corbliss was the secretary of records for the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, after a career as an assistant librarian for the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library.

She is survived by five children, including daughter and son in-law Kathleen and John Albert of Cape Coral, Fla.; son Kevin Corbliss of Allendale; daughter and son in-law Beth and Peter Gaffney of Manalapan; son and daughter in-law John and Ellen Corbliss of River Edge; and daughter and son in-law Allison and Storme Warren of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchildren Jacqueline, Peter and Ryan Gaffney; Keith, Kyle and Dana Corbliss; Jackson and Evan Warren; and Heather Albert Mehler and Jonathan Albert; sister in-law Barbara Corbliss-Garretson of Lyndhurst; sister and brother in-law Eileen and Robert Barnes of Toms River; brother and sister in-law William and Joyce Walsh of Toms River; sister in-law Maureen Walsh of Beechwood, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Corbliss was preceded in death by her her husband, brother Edward Walsh and brother in-law Joseph (Chick) Garretson.

The family asks memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
