Marta Peters, 102, Hasbrouck Heights Resident

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. — Marta Peters (nee Keller) of Hasbrouck Heights died Monday, Dec. 7. She was 102.

She was born in Switzerland, attended nursing school and became a maternity nurse there. She came to the U.S. as a nanny in 1939.

She is predeceased by her husband, Alfred Peters, who died January 6, 1952. She worked for Curtiss-Wright Corp. in Wood-Ridge and Bendix Corp. in Teterboro, putting three children through college before retiring in 1978.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hasbrouck Heights and a volunteer with the REACH program.

She is survived by her children Susanne, Margaret, Alfred and their spouses, Peter Kepsel, Al Richardson and Joan Peters, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her "adopted daughter and granddaughter,” Paulette Tartaglia and Danielle Centalonza.

Visitation is Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 4-7 p.m. at Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. Funeral service will be at the First Reformed Church, Burton Avenue and Washington Place, Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday, Dec. 16. Time to be determined. Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
