Mary 'Betty' Vorisek, 88, Lifetime Little Ferry Resident

LITTLE FERRY, N.J. -- Mary "Betty" Vorisek, of Little Ferry, died on Monday, Jan. 2. She was 88.

Born in Little Ferry, Vorisek "was a proud employee at her son's business, The Heights Flower Shoppe in Hasbrouck Heights, where she was their number-one bow maker for 30 years," information from the funeral home noted.

Previously, she worked as a punch press operator for J.S. Popper in Little Ferry.

Vorisek was the sister of Louise Novak, Agnes Crecco, Anna Drain, and Angelina, Ralph, James, Peter and Angelo Verdi. She is survived by her son, Ray Vorisek and his wife Cheryl, and grandchildren Zachary and Jillian Vorisek.

She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Vorisek Sr. and her parents, Dominick and Rosa Verdi.

Services were at the Costa Memorial Home and St. Margaret of Cortona Church, in Little Ferry on Jan. 5. She was entombed in Maple Grove Park Cemetery, in Hackensack.
