Joseph Borges, 27, got into the dispute at Big Chris’s Pizzeria on Park Avenue, where 24-year-old Raymond Torres worked, in September 2014, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said.

After Torres punched him in the face, Borges left, then returned several hours later with a .380-caliber handgun and shot him six times as Torres left the business, Valdes said.

A gunshot wound in his lower back killed him, she said.

Borges pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter on Thursday in exchange for the reduced sentence. He also will remain under parole supervision for five years after his release as part of the deal with prosecutors.

Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 20, 2017.

Assistant Passaic County Prosecutor Jennifer L. Kim negotiated the plea with defense attorney Leigh Saltiel.
