The victim was headed to work at A Self Storage on Bergen Turnpike off Route 46 in a rented Dodge Charger at 7:20 a.m. when the trio pulled up behind him, Police Chief Ralph Verdi told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
“The three guys jump out, two with handguns and put him on the ground,” the chief said. “They took his cellphone, his iPad for work and the keys, then they took off.”
NJ State Police got a report soon after of two cars speeding on westbound Route 80 before Newark police reported finding both vehicles.
The robbers were gone, they said.
