Contractor Charged In Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Mahwah Burglaries

WYCKOFF, N.J. --- A Franklin Lakes home renovator was charged with stealing tools in town and in Mahwah and Wyckoff.

Brian A. Hoeverman, 36, who three weeks ago was charged with heroin possession in Fair Lawn, remained free pending court action.

Detectives from all three towns worked together to identify Hoeverman, Lt. Joseph Soto said Wednesday.

Wyckoff police charged him with two break-ins, one involving a construction trailer on Timberline Drive that was reported Aug. 28, Soto said.

Oakland’s was reported on Aug. 18, from a vehicle and business on Spruce Street.

Less than a week later, Fair Lawn police charged Hoeverman and another man, 33-year-old Robert Ferri of Wyckoff, with having drugs and syringes in their car during a stop on northbound Route 208 at Maple Avenue.

Hoeverman was also charged with being under the influence after failing a sobriety field test, Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
