Harrington Park Officer Honored For Saving Boy From Croup Attack

HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. — Harrington Park Patrolman James LaVigna was recently honored for saving a 10-year-old boy who was suffering from a croup attack.

Last December, LaVigna passed the family in their vehicle — already en route to the hospital — following a 9-1-1 call, authorities said.

LaVigna administered oxygen once both parties stopped their cars, and drove him and his mother to Hackensack University Medical Center at Pascack Valley.
