A grand jury in Hackensack indicted Avi Kartin on child endangerment charges in 2015 after Cyber Crimes Unit detectives found that he’d been collecting the images two years earlier, , Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Grewal said Kartin – who formerly sold cars for Mercedes-Benz and Porsche dealers before becoming a worldwide entertainment promoter -- was in Thailand, where he’d taken a job selling services and products to real estate developers.

In October 2015, a judge in Hackensack issued an arrest warrant for Kartin -- who, records show, hooked up with a discount travel agency last year.

On Wednesday, Kartin, 27, flew into Newark Airport, where authorities took him into custody for failing to attend a scheduled arraignment on the child porn indictment.

A short time later, Superior Court Judge Margaret M. Foti released him without bail, under the 2017 New Jersey bail reform law, pending a June 26 court date.
