The homeowner yelled at the Newark teen, who took off on foot — and was stopped while walking with a woman identified as Paige Head on nearby Joseph Street just before 2 a.m., Sgt. Jeff Napolitano told CLIFFVIEW PILOT late this morning.

“They were carrying two bags full of various items including money, car GPS units and jewelry,” Napolitano said.

They’d also been driving a car reported stolen yesterday out of Clark, in Union County, he said.

No fewer than four more car burglary calls came in to police while they were processing Head and the boy, Napolitano said.

“Victims began to retrieve their stolen property even as the accused were still in the detention cells,” he said.

Head was charged with burglary, theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, weapons possession and providing false information. Juvenile complaints were signed against the teen.

The stolen car will be processed for evidence, Napolitano added.

Meanwhile, Moonachie detectives were canvassing the neighborhood for other potential victims and huddling with their colleagues in Clark, who suspect the pair in similar crimes, he said.

The sergeant asked that any other area car burglary victims from overnight call Moonachie police: (201) 641-9100.
