Moonachie Police Up To 65 Arrests In Teterboro For 2016

MOONACHIE, N.J. -- Moonachie police made it to 65 arrests in Teterboro so far this year, taking another accused Walmart shoplifter into custody.

Borough police, who have been covering all of Teterboro since the beginning of the year, arrested 61-year-old Margaret Scanniello of Little Ferry, who they said took more than $50 worth of women's clothing.

She was released on a summons.

At this rate, Moonachie police will have 80 arrests out of Teterboro for 2016 -- smashing last year's 45.

Low staffing and the expansion of Teterboro's commercial businesses have combined to put pressure on the department, authorities said.
