Neighbors Call: Paterson Police Bust Three, Seize 2 Lbs. Pot, Cocaine, $10k

PATERSON, N.J. -- Cars came and went at all hours, bringing police to a Paterson neighborhood where they seized more than two pounds of pot, a couple of ounces of cocaine and more than $10,000 in suspected drug money.

Narcotics detectives responding to citizen complaints in the 100 block of East 25th Street arrested three people.

Two of them, Jonathan Mejia, 29, and Camilo Mejia, 35, were dealing from their apartment at 150 East 25th Street, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.

Also arrested was Vanessa Gonzalez, 35, of Summer Street, who Speziale said bought a small bag of marijuana from them.

The Mejias were charged with various drug possession and distribution counts, the director said.

Detectives also seized $7,685 from Jonathan Mejia and $2,700 from Camilo Mejia, he said.
