Plaxico Burress will be ready for 2011 training camp, agent says

The agent for Plaxico Burress says the former New York Giants wide receiver will be ready for training camp next summer. Drew Rosenhaus played coy with ESPN‘s Adam Schefter, saying that two teams have stayed in touch during Burress’s prison stretch but not identifying them.

With his release set for June 2011, provided he keeps his nose clean behind bars, Burress could make a National Football League camp, which ordinarily begins the final week of July.

Michael Vick’s rehabilitation — and runaway success story this season in Philadelphia — makes Burress’s return a no-brainer. Having no brain when he accidentally shot himself with a loaded handgun he illegally carried into a Manhattan nightclub isn’t a valid enough argument against him playing for someone.

As Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and other diva wide receivers have proven, all Plax needs is one willing owner.
