Police: Fortified Paterson Drug Den Had Locks, Crossbars, Cameras

PATERSON, N.J. -- A 67-year-old Paterson man was arrested after city police raided a ramshackle home that had reinforced doors with multiple locks and wooden crossbars, barred windows and a camera system covering all approaches, authorities said.

Narcotics detectives seized more than 1,500 illegal prescription pills -- Percoset, Xanax and Oxycontin -- and arrested Jaime Zapata after the Oak Street raid, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.

Zapata was charged with various drug offenses and released pending a court hearing.
