The good Samaritan told officers at the mid-Manhattan terminal Wednesday afternoon that 18-year-old Hunter Taylor had been "making statements in reference to killing police officers," the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
He then "opened his bag and showed a firearm to the witness, who alerted Port Authority police," he said.
They took Taylor into custody and obtained a search warrant, which yielded the .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver and a small bag of marijuana, Pentangelo said.
Hunter was charged with weapons and drug possession and making terroristic threats.
