WEST MILFORD, N.J. – West Milford police were seeking witnesses to a single-car crash that injured two Highland Lakes residents.

Responding officers found the severely damaged two-door 2017 Toyota off northbound Route 23 just north of the High Crest bridge at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday, Police Chief Timothy C. Storbeck said.

The passenger, Miranda L. Bohmer, 21, was flown by Hackensack University Medical Center’s AirMed One to Morristown Memorial Hospital, Storbeck said.

The driver, Ryan P. Simpson, 19, was transported to the hospital by the West Milford Township First Aid Squad, the chief said.

He didn’t have their conditions.

Also responding were West Milford firefighters and the NJDOT.

Storbeck’s Crash Investigation Unit and the Passaic County Prosecutors’ Office were investigating.
