Patrick Chu “was downloading and distributing videos of child pornography,” Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said, when members of his Internet Crime Unit and prosecutor’s detectives raided Chu’s North 8th Street apartment on Thursday.

They arrested Chu and seized his electronic devices, the sheriff said, adding that authorities “anticipate recovering several hundred files of child pornography.”

A judge ordered Chu held in the Passaic County Jail, pending a detention hearing, on charges of possessing and distributing kiddie porn, as well as maintaining the videos in a file-sharing program
