ONLY ON CVP: “It was more then we ever expected,” Wood-Ridge Detective Joseph Rutigliano said of PBA Local #313’s Toy Drive for victims of Hurricane Sandy from Moonachie, Little Ferry and the borough.
“We had people come from as far as Canada” to the Wood-Ridge police garage on Humboldst Street and Union Avenue, said Rutigliano, one of the organizers.
With help from volunteers, PBA members collected new, unwrapped gifts for youngsters from infants to teens that packed a trailer, as well as gift cars to various big-box stores.
“Wow! What a successful day!” said Wood-Ridge native Susan Monahan Witkowski. “I’m overwhelmed at the generosity.”
