Moonachie Real Estate Firm Celebrates 50 Years' Experience

MOONACHIE, N.J. -- Over the past 50 years, Jaime Weiss has arranged land sales, sold investment properties, sold and leased office and retail space, and brokered major transactions in New Jersey and nationwide.

"We have been extremely fortunate and proud to make so many significant transactions and continue to service our clients in the same manner today as we have since the company was formed," said Weiss, president of Weiss Realty.

Weiss Realty has leased or sold more than 20 million square feet of property, with a total aggregate value exceeding $1 billion. Currently, the firm's manages more than 1 million square feet of space. 

Weiss began his real estate career in 1967, with New York's Cross & Brown Company. After working his way up to VP there, Weiss continued with other firms and was the leading industrial broker in the country in 1986.

He now manages his family-owned brokerage firm, based in Moonachie, with his son Matthew. The firm represents a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial and retail properties.

Weiss has also facilitated transactions for a multitude of companies and organizations, including St. Vincent's Hospital, Capital One, North Jersey Community Bank, Starbucks, Walgreens and Sony Corporation.

"At Weiss Realty, we are focused on ensuring that our retail, medical and office tenants are getting the highest and most personal level of service," Weiss said. The firm also added property owner and manager to its repertoire, when it acquired a 153-acre property in Illinois in 2003, when Firestone closed its tire manufacturing facilities. Caterpillar and other tenants are currently leasing the space.
