HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Fresh off their win over their win over Carlstadt/East Rutherford in the Meadowlands Football League Super Bowl, the Hasbrouck Heights Junior Aviators football team was honored by the borough mayor and council.
Mayor Rose Heck and Councilwomen Sonya Buckman and Pamela Link presented awards to team members. The coaches and cheerleaders were also recognized.
Head coach Michael Colaneri Sr., who is also the borough police chief, spoke briefly about the team’s accomplishment, praising his coaches and players, while thanking the parents and cheerleaders for their support.
This was the Junior Aviators seventh Super Bowl win since 2000, he noted.
