The Holiday Float Contest is held in conjunction with the Chamber Holiday Parade.

"We want to get more community involvement," Hasbrouck Heights Chamber of Commerce President Ray Vorisek said.

The parade, sponsored by Mayor Rose Heck's Community Celebrations Committee and the Chamber of Commerce, is open to all borough, scout, PTA and church organizations or families.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second or third prize in the most original, artistic, creative, unusual or funniest categories. Winners will receive ribbons.

"Floats can be anything from extremely small like a wagon or cart to a truck or flatbed," Vorisek said.

All floats will gather on the Boulevard between Paterson and La Salle Avenues at 6:30 p.m. on the evening of the parade to be judged beforehand.

Entry forms may be obtained at Borough Hall, 320 Boulevard.
