HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. — Cat owners in Hasbrouck Heights are not required to license their felines, NorthJersey.com reports.

Council rejected the idea of mandatory licensing Tuesday after months of debate assessing the feral cat population, the story says.

The ordinance voted down would’ve required cat owners to register their pets for $12-$15 per year, according to the story.
