LITTLE FERRY, N.J. – Daniel D. Weir, of Little Ferry, died on Saturday, Dec. 5. He was 90.
He was born in Kearny, N/J., on June 27, 1925, serving in the Army during World War II, rising to the rank of sergeant and participating in President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's funeral procession.
Weir was a business owner in Bloomfield Center, and president of the 'Fifth Quarter' athletic fundraising club.
He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth.
He is survived by his daughter, Gail and her husband Joseph; two grandchildren, and a brother Thomas and his wife, Rosemary.
Calling hours are on Thursday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Trinka-Faustini Funeral Service, at 439 Maywood Ave. in Maywood. A funeral Mass will follow at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, at Chamberlain Avenue in Little Ferry, at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair.
