Bendewald was “always the first one to help a family member, friend, coworker and even a stranger when they need help,” a GoFundMe page created to raise money for his family states.
Bendewald passed away following an affliction with encephalitis, a rare viral infection, according to the page.
He is survived by his wife, Dona Campanile, his children Taylor Bendewald, Nicco Bendewald and Amanda Carrig, as well as his mother Ruth Bendewald, brother Thomas Bendewald Jr. and his wife Deborah, and brother David Bendewal, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Bendewald, Sr. and nephew Thomas Bendewald III.
Bendewald was warehouseman for Driscoll Foods in Clifton.
