HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Josephine M. "Jay" (Roma) Gurrisi, of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Saturday, April 30. She was 94.
Born in Hackensack, Gurrisi was a seamstress before she retiried. She was a former member of the Jeffersonian Democratic Club in Hasbrouck Heights.
She is survived by her children, Charles Gurrisi and his wife Jo Ann of Lodi, and Lucille (Gurrisi) Calabrese of Hasbrouck Heights; grandchildren Jeffrey, Tricia-Marie, Toni-Lyn and Nicole; great-grandchildren Matthew Ryan, Jacob Patrick and Abigail Marie; and nieces and nephews.
Gurrisi was predeceased by her husband, Gregorio "Charlie" Gurrisi; parents Fortunato and Teresina Roma; granddaughter Tina-Marie; and siblings Fortunato "Flory" Roma, Carmen Roma, Gennaro "Al" Roma, MaryAnn DeRiso and Madeline Faranda.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at the Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Ave., in Hasbrouck Heights. The funeral will be from the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, with an 11 a.m. funeral liturgy from Corpus Christi Church, in Hasbrouck Heights. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Saddle Brook.
